With over 15 years of hands-on experience across the construction, mining, and civil industries, Michael built his career from the ground up. Starting in the construction sector, he worked across various roles gaining valuable industry insights that now shape the training solutions provided at NexStep Solutions.
His transition into training began on Koolan Island, where he had the opportunity to learn from industry leaders, like Justin, and developed a deep understanding of workforce development. It was during this time that he recognised significant gaps in the training services available. NexStep Solutions was created to bridge those gaps, delivering high-quality, tailored training that empowers teams and enhances operational safety and efficiency.

Justin’s career began while studying engineering at TAFE, balancing his studies with work in the service industry. What started as a short trip to Japan turned into a 12-year stay, where he gained valuable experience as an English teacher at a private school — honing communication, leadership, and adaptability skills that would serve him well in future roles.
After returning to Australia, Justin worked in the scrap metal industry before transitioning to the mining sector as an operator. His involvement in emergency response and training sparked a passion for workplace safety and team development. It was during this time that he met Mick, forming a trusted partnership built on shared values and a vision for improving industry training standards.
